Meet Pro Parent Jonathan Gallegos

Jonathan and his partner (high school sweethearts of 14 years) are first time parents to 11 week old Lillia! After dreaming of the day that they’d become parents, Jonathan and his partner are excited to start the next chapter together with their newborn–excited and eager to embrace parenthood full on!

What does your bedtime routine usually look like?

Feeding comes first, for our baby is a growing hungry girl, followed by a father daughter burping session which I enjoy for the cute faces she makes! After if she seems very energetic or awake we follow up with tummy time and then decompress with a warm bath! By this time she is usually very much hungry again so I bottle feed her or mama may step in and breast feed her! Depending if she wants to be a fussy princess we will swaddle then rock her to sleep! If she is behaving then a simple rocking to sleep on the rocking chair will do just fine!

Favorite Nanit products and features?

Pro Camera hands down has to be the best for me! Heck it’s the best camera I’ve ever had! The features that are included are next to none and with the added Insights Plan it’s just unbelievable all that is offered! It’s like you’ll never miss another precious moment in your little one’s life.

I very much enjoy the Breathing Motion Monitoring feature as that calms me down and helps me sleep myself! It keeps me from going in and out of her room to check on her and risk waking her back up!

What tips or advice would you share with first-time parents?

Hang in there!! It may feel tough at first but it’s always worth it!! Sleep is temporary but your little one is forever! Tag teaming nights with your partner are a great help, just try to keep it one parent up at a time, as it is a great help when one parent is sleep deprived or exhausted that at least the other can jump in and give a well needed break to the other parent! That will keep your sanity in place as well as keep you from arguments with your partner for no reason!

How does Nanit support you as a parent?

They support our family with the continued excellent service they provide as well as continued improvements with their products and how they interact with the community! They have connected us with parents all over that share the same goal in mind, becoming the best pro parent possible! By learning from each other as well as sharing stories and advice! Nanit has helped us enter parenthood by letting us feel that we are not alone.

I'm just so happy I found this brand! Being a new parent can feel very tough and lonely even! Everything is new and there is so much to learn and so much to worry about that it becomes way too much! Finding this brand and community has given me a new sense of confidence to being a parent! I hope that Nanit can reach every new parent and help them as they helped me!
