Senior Electrical Engineer

We are actively seeking a hands-on Senior Electrical Engineer who also has experience in developing and launching consumer technology products to the market. This position, which reports to the VP of Product Development, is a critical position within Nanit as it continues to establish itself as the leader in the baby monitor market.

The Job:

• Work closely with Product R&D to migrate enabling technologies to product integration - perform prototyping, test and verify to qualify component/subsystem technologies for new product introduction
• Elec design including PCB layout
• Work with outsource design house & consultant partners for Elec design including traveling to partner site for verification and debug works
• Perform product integration and qualification - EVT, DVT, PV, MP
• Develop electrical BOM with guidance from R&D and collaboration with Supply Chain
• Write spec and design tests for custom Manufacturing testers
• Work with manufacturing tester vendor to design/ build/ certify testers for production factory
• Work with factory engineers to bring up manufacturing testers
• Work closely with Head of Supply Chain to qualify 2nd/alternate sources for critical components
• Provide technical Customer Service support including performing failure analysis on RMA units. And collaborate with engineering and Nanit factory PM to provide solution to eliminate or mitigate the issue to improve product quality
• Provide sustaining support to Far East factories including manufacturing test equipment
• Travel and work at overseas factory up to 3 weeks at a time to launch new products or provide sustaining support on current products
• Able to travel on a short notice

Requirements and Capabilities:

• Job location: New York City, New York
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 8 years of industry-related work experience
• Have worked on and managed development projects in fast paced/ short cycle consumer product environment
• Experienced in board (PCB) layout


Familiarity with any of the following will be considered as an advantage:
• Previous experience with video processors, image sensor, camera/optics, and WiFi modules
• Project management skill
• Experience working in a hands-on, start-up environment
• Mechanical- or physics- inclined
